What the Shabu Shabu looks like with everything being cooked together.

What the raw food looks like when it is served to you, before you cook it yourself.

A few weeks ago I went to this restaurant called Joon Shabu Shabu which is located on 220 E Broadway, Glendale.  What made this place so different was how everything was served and made.  So first you order what you want, for example a seafood plate, or a beef plate and all of the meals come with vegetables, rice and ramen.  But the coolest part about it is that you cook all of your food in a boiling pot of water that you have right in front of you.  Once all of your food arrives then you can pretty much just cook it however you want.  Some people just cook all of their vegetables, meat and ramen at the same time or some people will cook things and eat them as they go.  I recommend doing either one, except that if you cook everything together all of the flavors from the meat and vegetables will mix, so if you like that then try it, but if not, then don’t try it.  Included in all of the meals is dipping sauces for the meat, vegetables, or ramen.  This type of restaurant was a very fun and new experience for me that I recommend for anyone who is willing to try something new.
