According to “Reversing Paralysis”, MIT is creating new technology that changes the world. They are designing an implant that is located in the brain that causes a paralyzed person to walk again. Scientists have tested this device on a monkey that had a paralyzed right leg. They added the implant into the brain and another one that has an electrode that is wrapped around the spine. Then, the monkey started to move its leg, it even started to jump. This was an amazing breakthrough. The implant reads what the monkey is thinking of moving, and sends “electrical stimulation ” to the spine, which later causes the spine to connect with the paralyzed body part. Scientists are still putting together the pieces. This will be available in 10 to 15 years.
