Recently, Los Angeles’ own Meghan Markle and now fiancé, Prince Harry of Wales, announced their engagement. Markle will be the first American and divorced woman since Wallis Simpson to marry a royal. Wallis Simpson was wife of Edward VIII, the current Queen Elizabeth’s uncle. The wedding is scheduled to take place in the Spring of 2018. Markle attended Immaculate Heart High School and grew up here in Los Angeles.
