Devil’s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen is a historical fiction novel. The novel is about thirteen year old Hannah Stern, as she celebrates a Jewish holiday she gets sent back in time to the Holocaust. Stern spends time in a concentration camp as a prisoner. She becomes close with people of the time period and commits selfless acts. This is definitely an advanced novel, so I recommend it to grades 6-8.
