College Basketball Updates

The end of the basketball season is coming to an end, and teams are trying to make a push to make the NCAA tournament. Currently the top 5 are (1)Virginia, (2)Michigan State, (3) Xavier, (4) Villanova, and (5) Duke. The last few weeks in college basketball have been surprising and exciting. The top 25 looks a lot different than it did in the beginning of the season, because many teams have been losing games like Oklahoma, USC, and many others. Last weekend was very important to NCAA Basketball because the FBI scandal came back. This started with the FBI stating that 25 teams were involved in this scandal including Louisville, USC, Arizona, Duke, and Michigan State. The most shocking news was when Yahoo released a statement saying that they have evidence of Arizona basketball head coach Sean Miller ensuring that Deandre Ayton signed with Arizona for $100,000. Arizona has been in a nutshell recently after finding out that their superstar guard Allonzo Trier is ineligible after being positive for a banned substance. Many other teams and players have been involved but that was the biggest one. This past weekend was filled with many exciting games. Missouri and Kentucky was a huge game for both teams, however this game was won by Kentucky. This got the Wildcats back in the top 25, and Missouri received exciting news that Michael Porter Jr. the number 2 recruit will play again this season after he only played in one game. Another SEC game was between number 14 Auburn and Florida, this game was a nailbiter but was won by Florida. A important Pac-12 game was between number 19 Arizona and Oregon. Allonzo Trier did not play for his second straight game and Sean Miller did not coach. This game was back and forth but was won by Oregon in overtime. An exciting Big Ten game was between Michigan State and Wisconsin, this game was back and forth but was won by Michigan State. A story about an Iowa basketball players was made after their last game about Jordan Bohannon who was one free throw away from breaking the school record, but purposely missed to honor Chris Street who played basketball for Iowa and died 25 years ago. This basketball season has been very exciting and there is much more to come.
