Self-Driving Trucks Now Being Used in Atlanta
Self-driving cars have been a popular topic in technology and cars for awhile now and a company named Waymo is now bringing self-driving car technology into trucks. Waymo is a car development company that has been working on self-driving cars since 2009. After testing in California and Arizona, the company has decided to move the self-driving trucks to Atlanta where they will be helping deliver freight for Google. Waymo is using the same technology that they used in Arizona which allowed cars to go completely driverless. Because of the different ways of braking, turning, and different blind spots, the trucks will not go completely driverless. Waymo says that every truck will have a highly trained driver that will be ready to take control of the vehicle.
