The Pigeon books, by Mo Willems, are true classics. Many of us have fond memories of our infancy with these books. Most of us grew up with them, and still enjoy their innocent silliness today. All the Pigeon books are great, but which one is the best? To answer this question, I read all of the Pigeon books to decide which one was the finest. I took into account the storyline, silliness, and interactivity of each book. Please note that for this article only the six main Pigeon books were reviewed, and that none of the spin-off books were taken into account.

  1. The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog!

This Pigeon book is extremely fun, however I feel like it doesn’t engage the reader as much as it some of the other Pigeon book. Even so, it still consists of some hilarious dialogue from the Duckling.

  1. The Pigeon Wants a Puppy!

Yet again, this book is wonderful, but I feel like the Pigeon’s arguments aren’t as fun as some of the other books. This book is still hilarious and very engaging.

  1. Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!

The book that started it all. This story is a true classic, yet, I feel like the book doesn’t have enough variety. Even so, it is still amazing, and one of my favorite children’s book of all time.

  1. Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late!

This book is amazing. It is definitely one of my favorites. The only reason it didn’t score higher is because the plot is extremely similar to most of the other Pigeon books. Still, this book is wonderful.

  1. The Duckling Gets a Cookie!?

I really love this book. The style of humor and the interaction between Pigeon and Duckling engages readers, both old and young alike. Definitely recommended.

  1. The Pigeon Needs a Bath!

“The Pigeon Needs a Bath!” takes the number one spot, but only by a little. This book is amazing, and is the funniest and most engaging of all the Pigeon books. Everyone should read this book, for they will love it. This is a must read.

The Pigeon books are all amazing, and this list was incredibly difficult to make. What Pigeon book is your favorite? Which one do you think is the funniest?
