Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts

The Boy Scouts of America is a wonderful program. However, you must be in the 5th grade to be a boy scout. But don’t fear, for there is an alternative: Cub scouts. I was a cub scout before becoming a boy scout, and both my younger brothers are still in cub scouts. I interviewed some cub scouts to gather their opinions on the program.

  1. What cub scout rank are you?
  2. What is your favorite thing about cub scouts?
  3. What are you most looking forward to in scouts?

For my interviews, I talked to Matteo Camara, Jude Roa, and James Pudi, who are all in 1B. I also interviewed Antonio Camara, Miles Chase, and Nick Medina, who are from 4A. The first graders are all tigers in cub scouts, and the fourth graders are Webelos 1 (short for “we be loyal scouts”). All of the cub scouts agreed that they loved hanging out with their friends. Antonio also likes hiking, and James likes making s’mores. All of the Webelos were super excited to become boy scouts. Jude was excited to shoot BB guns, and Matteo couldn’t wait for the sleepover in Holy Angel Hall.

I would recommend cub scouts or boy scouts for any person who is interested. It is a very fun and enriching experience that I enjoy a lot, even today.
