Japan’s Whaling Ban

Japans+Whaling+Ban

As some may know, there is a worldwide ban on whale hunting to help preserve the number of whales in the wild. Recently, Japan attempted to convince the world to repeal this ban. Repealing this ban would mean allowing people to continue hunting whales in the wild, which was stopped a while ago due to the whale population dwindling due to the hunting. Japan’s argument was that whale numbers were high enough to allow whale hunting again. Fortunately, the International Whaling Commission in Brazil voted on allowing hunting whales again and the law against whale hunting still remains.
