The 8th grade annual Capstone project is underway and 8th grade is more than halfway complete with their finished projects. The first of the four phases that the 8th graders had to complete was finding a topic and creating a working thesis. The second of the four phases that the 8th graders had to complete was an article analysis project where the goal was for the 8th graders to investigate what part of their broad topic they wished ot research and present their project about. For example the main topic that I chose to research was poverty but after my article analysis project I chose to research mainly homelessness. The third of the four main topics was an annotated works cited page where the 8th graders had to write reflection paragraphs on the articles that they chose to base their research off of. The last of the four phases that the 8th graders are working on currently is the project proposal. To complete this phase the 8th graders need create a multimedia presentation proposing their thesis. The Capstone project is a great way for 8th grade to develop researching tools that they will use later in life.
