Plant Keychains

Plant+Keychains

Hi Falcons! Today’s craft is going to be something you can carry on your bags or backpack: A keychain! These keychains have little plants on them, but you can do another design if you’d like.

Materials Needed:

1 or more sheets of Shrink Plastic (You can find this at a craft store!)

1 hole puncher

1 chain used for keychains or string

1 sheet of foil

1 Cookie Sheet

1 pair of scissors

1 black permanent marker

Colored Pencils

Instructions:

  1. Get one sheet of Shrink Plastic. Draw a plant or sapling onto the paper, but not small, with the black marker.
  2. Color it in with green for leaves and stems, and any other color for the plant if it has something else, like a flower and it’s petals. Do this with colored pencils.
  3. Punch a hole near the drawing, and cut out the drawing and the hole with scissors.
  4. Get a cookie sheet and lay foil on the sheet. While doing this, preheat the oven to the time the package says! (I preheated to 325°, but can be different depending on the brand)
  5. Put the keychain onto the foil, and after preheating, have an adult put it in the oven for 1 minute to 3 minutes and 30 seconds, 4 minutes at most.
  6. Have an adult get them from the oven, and get the chain or string for the plant keychain.
  7. Put the keychain onto the chain after letting the keychain cool down, or string your string through!
  8. Repeat steps 1-8 if desired, and make as many as you’d like!

These are very cool to make, and you can also make other designs with the same steps!
