Why The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is My Favorite Game, Ever

No words can describe my love of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Some of the best moments I’ve ever had while gaming have come from OoT. Everything about it creates some emotions I’ve never felt anywhere else. The feeling of riding across Hyrule on Epona, hearing the incredible music in the background is invigorating. Booting up my console and hearing the familiar theme playing behind Link fills me with a strange calm, knowing that hours of fun are ahead of me. Ocarina of Time makes you feel like you are Link and induces the emotions I’m sure that he must have felt while on his quest to save Hyrule. I was first introduced to OoT by my uncle, who had played the game as a child. I watched a few trailers for the game and thought it looked pretty cool, so he and I stopped by a GameStop and picked up a copy for my 3DS. When I first started playing the game, I didn’t fully realize how amazing it was. I was like, “yeah, this game is cool,” but once I got further into it, I started to realize how great of a game it is. The gameplay is intense without being too difficult, which kept me coming back for more. The puzzles gave me an incredible sense of satisfaction whenever I finished even the smallest challenge. Don’t even get me started on the music, though. Some of my favorite songs, ever, have come from Ocarina of Time. The following are some of my favorite songs, and the links to listen to them. I highly recommend you listen to at least one of these songs, even if you have no previous knowledge of Zelda. The following are in no particular order: Title Theme, Zelda’s Lullaby, Lost Woods / Saria’s Theme, Lon Lon Ranch, Gerudo Valley, Song of Storms / Windmill Hut, and Hyrule Field Theme. These songs bring an astonishing amount of depth to the game: every moment of hearing these brings you one step closer to truly being Link. The songs are also incredibly fun to learn on piano, and I happen to know a few myself. Overall, Ocarina of Time is unsurpassed by ANY game that I have ever played and is a must-have for anyone who owns a compatible console.
