Good Books to Read during the Summer
Are you looking for some good books to read junior highers? Well, I made a list of good books to read…
- Fish in a Tree: Fish in a Tree is written by Lynda Mullaly Hunt. This is a coming to age novel about a girl named Ally who knows she is not as smart as the other kids. So, she tries to hide her inability to read until a new teacher at her school figures it out and helps Ally because she sees a spark in her. This teacher helps Ally not only with learning but also learning more about herself.
- Divergent: Divergent is the beginning of the Divergent series written by Veronica Roth. Divergent is an action/adventure novel that is very similar to The Hunger Games. If you want a quick summary of this book, check out my previous review on Divergent. https://falconsflyer.org/14249/readerscorner/divergent-6th-8th-readers-corner/
- Greenglass House: Greenglass House is a mystery novel written by Kate Milford. This book is about an old house that is owned by a family. The family uses the house as an inn and during the winter many mysterious people stay. Things are stolen and mysteries keep occurring. I would recommend this book to people who love a good adventure/mystery novel.
- Brown Girl Dreaming: Brown Girl Dreaming is poetry and autobiography about the author Jacqueline Woodson. The story is about her life growing up as an African American during the civil rights movement.
I hope this list helped you Falcons. Keep reading this Summer!
