Red Tie Ball 2021

Red Tie Ball 2021

Every year around this time, St. Philip has a Red Tie Bash or Red Tie Ball. This year, the Red Tie Ball was not able to be in person because of Covid guidelines. It would have been at Noor in Pasadena, but this year they were able to deliver dinner to everyone. Everyone got to choose what to have for dinner and when it was delivered, they had to heat it when they were ready to eat.

For the auction, there were many items to bid on. Some items included: front row seats at the Christmas Worship Service, front row seats at Graduation, alternate dress for one week, and many more. To bid on items, people would go online to bid on items.

The auction video this year was also different from the other ones. Usually, students would be filmed dancing to songs at school, but some grades weren’t at school in person yet, so they went on a zoom call to dance. However, the grades in school were filmed dancing at recess or lunch outside. In addition to the dancing, there were jokes told by eighth-graders, teachers, and kids in other grades.

Even though the Red Tie Ball was not as expected this year, the volunteers who made it possible did a great job.
