The Adventures of Taco and Cheeseburger Ch. 9

By Lindsey Michelena & Maria Yniguez

“So Laurence is going to head out into the woods to try to find Taco and Cheeseburger”, Ramses finishes explaining to Dante. They have just decided to tell him everything before Laurence leaves, when Dante had come running up to them asking what was going on. Dante says, “Okay. That actually sounds like a logical plan, especially from Alison.” “HEY! I come up with good plans”, Alison replies. “Sure you do, Alison”, Dante laughs. Garroth tells Ramses,”Haha! They’re always making fun of each other in some way.” Ramses laughs and replies, “I know, right? They fight a lot, which is natural for brothers and sisters.” Laurence joins the conversation and adds, “ At least they’re just playing around. The last time Alison was mad at Dante she knocked him out!” They all laugh. “Have you guys stopped fighting so we can open the barrier?” Garroth asks. “We weren’t fighting, Garroth. I’m sure Dante was just joking around. Right, Dante?” Alison asks as she elbows Dante in the arm. “Well, since I don’t want to get punched….yep, just kidding Alison. Just kidding.” They all laugh again and Garroth says, “We should open the barrier so Laurence can get through.” Laurence nods. Dante turns to Laurence and says, “Be careful. We all know that someone wants Bumshy Head under his or her control. Be on guard.” Laurence replies, “Thanks, Dante.” Ramses says, “Hurry, Alison! We don’t have any time to waste! Laurence needs to find Taco and Cheeseburger before…before someone else does. Come on, Alison!” Alison quickly pours the potion onto the soil, and the barrier disappears. Ramses motions to Laurence to go through. He hurries past the now imaginary barrier. Right as he gets through, the barrier reappears. The others keep saying things to him, but he can’t hear it, as the barrier is sound proof. The others quickly realize that and just give him a thumbs up. Laurence knows he has done it right, and that nothing went wrong. Ramses gestures for him to go into the woods, so he does. I’ve got to find Taco and Cheeseburger, he thinks, but where do I look? These woods are very big. I must find them some way, somehow. I guess I will just walk right in and look for traces of the girls. With that, Laurence walks into the deep woods, not knowing, or even having a clue, on what will happen next.
