Hidden Figures tells the story of three women who are working for NASA but face discrimination since they state they live in is still segregated. They are extremely smart, and must prove to their co-workers that they should have equal treatment. One of the women, Catherine, is promoted to a work room so she can do things like figure out math problems and check her co-worker’s answers, but she faces challenges. For example, the colored women’s bathroom is more than 20 minutes away and she must walk there and back multiple times a day, which frustrates her co-workers. Another woman, Mary, wants to be an engineer and help build the rocket, but the rules state that she has to take certain classes which are only offered at the segregated high school. The last woman, Dorothy, does the work of a supervisor but is not given the title or the pay of one, so she must convince the head to give her that position.Throughout the movie, Catherine, Mary, and Dorothy achieve their goals and are able to earn some respect from their co-workers. We definitely recommend this movie to people who like inspirational and moving stories. If you ever need an amazing movie to see, Hidden Figures is definitely a good option!
