Choosing a high school to go to is a tough decision. In 8th grade, multiple high schools from the area come to St. Philip to educate students about their school. So far, we have seen two schools: LaSalle and Maranatha. Both schools had engaging presentations and were overall fun to listen to.
First came LaSalle, who began their visit by giving the 8th graders pens, t-shirts, wristbands, and stress balls. They went on to talk about their extracurricular activities, clubs, sports, and courses. Their presentation was very entertaining. When the presentation was finished, they made a trivia for the students and gave prizes to those who answered correctly. Overall, the 8th graders seemed to really enjoy LaSalle’s visit.
The second school that visited us was Maranantha or the Minuteman. They first started off talking about their extracurricular activities and clubs. On top of the wide variety of clubs they had to offer, they also had lots of honor classes like Algebra II and Biology. The thing that really stood out was their athletics, 21% of senior athletes each year go on to compete at the collegiate level (5x the national average).
Overall, both schools had great presentations and had a lot to offer.
