Apple vs. FBI
This pass month there has been a dispute over an iPhone owned by a suspect in the San Bernardino Shooting.
Investigators want Apple to hack into the phone of Syed Farook because of the information they might find. Investigators want to specifically find conversations he had with his wife prior to the shooting and see if the attack was ISIS related.
The FBI can’t try and guess the password of the iPhone because of the time-consuming process and if they don’t guess the password right in ten tries then everything in the iPhone would be erased. The dispute between Apple and the FBI has been taken to court for a jury and a judge to decide.
Apple does not want to open the iPhone and release the information because their customers will label them as untrustworthy. Apple is being told by the FBI that they should cooperate with them because of the valuable information that could help the investigation. Apple will continue to refuse the order because they care about their consumer’s privacy.
As of now, the FBI and Apple are still in a heated battle and will rely on the judge and jury regarding the fate of the ios software being creating for the case for the release of the information in the phone.
