Crafty Snacks

It’s almost National Oatmeal Cookie Day.  In preparation for National Oatmeal Cookie Day you can make some delicious tie dye cookies.  For these cookies you will need:

  • cookie dough
  • cookie cutter preferably a circular shaped one
  • Fondant
  • light corn syrup
  • food coloring
  • Paper towels

I recommend having latex gloves as well.  The instructions to create these tasty treats are:

  1. Separate the dough into as many cookies as possible but don’t make them too small.
  2. Put the cookies to bake.
  3. Once the cookies have cooled roll the marshmallow fondant to ¼ inch thick.
  4. Put two teaspoons of light corn starch in a bowl.
  5. Lightly spread the light corn starch onto the cookies using your finger (do this with all cookies).
  6. Then put a piece of fondant on top and press down lightly then put that cookie aside (do this with all cookies)..
  7. Get the paper towels and tear them into halves.
  8. Wet the end of half of the paper towel (not it fully) and that is the first color on the cookie.
  9. Dapple the cookie with the wet part of the towel but don’t cover the cookie completely.
  10. Use lighter and darker areas for a better tie dye effect.
  11. Repeat steps 8,9, and 10 for two more colors on each cookie.
  12. Then put it in the oven to dry for about 3 minutes and then viola your cookies are done.
