Crafty Snacks
It’s almost National Oatmeal Cookie Day. In preparation for National Oatmeal Cookie Day you can make some delicious tie dye cookies. For these cookies you will need:
- cookie dough
- cookie cutter preferably a circular shaped one
- Fondant
- light corn syrup
- food coloring
- Paper towels
I recommend having latex gloves as well. The instructions to create these tasty treats are:
- Separate the dough into as many cookies as possible but don’t make them too small.
- Put the cookies to bake.
- Once the cookies have cooled roll the marshmallow fondant to ¼ inch thick.
- Put two teaspoons of light corn starch in a bowl.
- Lightly spread the light corn starch onto the cookies using your finger (do this with all cookies).
- Then put a piece of fondant on top and press down lightly then put that cookie aside (do this with all cookies)..
- Get the paper towels and tear them into halves.
- Wet the end of half of the paper towel (not it fully) and that is the first color on the cookie.
- Dapple the cookie with the wet part of the towel but don’t cover the cookie completely.
- Use lighter and darker areas for a better tie dye effect.
- Repeat steps 8,9, and 10 for two more colors on each cookie.
- Then put it in the oven to dry for about 3 minutes and then viola your cookies are done.
