The Easter Bunny’s REAL Adventures

Have you ever wondered what the Easter Bunny does when it is not Easter? This story is about the Easter Bunny and his REAL adventures.

One cold fall, the Easter Bunny was hopping around and exploring the woods. All of a sudden, a bear jumped out in front of him and growled! The bear lunged at him, and the Easter Bunny hopped for his life. He was fast, but so was the bear. Soon the Easter Bunny got tired allowing the bear to catch up to him. The Easter Bunny feared for his life and for the Easter season. The Easter Bunny’s magic could only be received if you were family. The only family that he had left was his son who was not ready for the responsibilities of the Easter Bunny. If is son couldn’t be Easter bunny the Easter would be ruined for every boy and girl in world.

Pretty soon a wolf came along and  chased the bear away and left. Relieved the Easter Bunny began to rest until a girl came up to him and said hello. “You must be the Easter Bunny!” she exclaimed. “Hi, I’m Catherine. But you can call me Kate.” The Easter Bunny ran. “Wait!” called Kate. “I saved your life! It would be rude if you run from me!” The Easter Bunny quickly turned. She had saved his life? But the wolf had saved his life!

“You see, this is my dog, Ally. I saw the bear chasing you, and I told her to chase the bear. She looks a lot like a wolf, which would easily scare the bear,” Kate explained. “You mean…that is not a wolf?” asked the Easter Bunny. Kate laughed. “No, she’s a husky. But don’t worry a lot of people mistake for a wolf. She can even howl like one..” Ally proceeded to howl loudly. The Easter Bunny jumped making Kate laugh.

“You scared him, Ally,” laughed Kate. “Anyway…thank you,” said the Easter Bunny. “No problem,” replied Kate. “I just hope I get extra candy next Easter.” The Easter Bunny laughed. “Oh, you’ll get much more than that.” Kate looked confused then slowly said, “You have a surprise for me? What is it?!” The Easter Bunny replied, “If I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore!” Kate smiled “I love surprises!” I loved surprises. And from the Easter Bunny? This had got to be good!

“I should probably be getting home,” said Kate. “Alright,” said the Easter Bunny, “Would you like me to go with you?” “No thanks. I know these woods pretty well. Nice to meet you, by the way.” The Easter Bunny walked towards her to shake her hand, but Ally growled at him and guarded Kate from the him. “What is she doing?” The Easter Bunny asked. “Well, she’s very protective of me. She doesn’t let strangers get near me.” “Why?” he asked. Kate replied, “Because wild dogs are in packs, and they always protect their fellow pack members. Even though Ally is not a wild dog, she has the instincts of one and she thinks that I am in her pack. Pack members protect and help each other.” “That’s cool,” replied the Easter Bunny. “Bye,” waved Kate, and she walked away, followed by Ally. The Easter Bunny went to his burrow.

The Easter Bunny quickly woke up from his sleep. It was still dark. He had heard a scream. He followed the sound to find someone hanging upside down from a rope. “Help me!” cried the person. The Easter Bunny knew at once that it was Kate. He had amazing vision in the dark, so he could see her clearly. But wait-there was something else! It was Ally, trying to help Kate down. “I’m here,” said the Easter Bunny. “Help me!” cried Kate. “I’m trapped and that wolf is trying to get me!” “You mean that’s not Ally?” asked the Easter Bunny. “No!” cried Kate.

In order to help Kate, the Easter Bunny knew that he had to scare off the

wolf, first. He growled and ran towards it. The wolf couldn’t see that well in the dark, so he mistook the Easter Bunny for a more dangerous animal. He ran away quickly. The Easter Bunny then untied the rope from Kate’s ankle. She hung on to it so she didn’t fall face forward, then jumped down. “Thanks!” said Kate. The Easter Bunny said, “Wait, why were you out here in the middle of the night?” Kate replied, “Ally ran away. Apparently she is smarter than we thought, and she saw a squirrel, so she opened the door. I heard it and chased her out here. I guess a hunter had put out a trap at night because no one ever goes into the woods at night except animals.”

“Now we have to find Ally!” exclaimed the Easter Bunny. They ran through the woods. “Stop!” cried the Easter Bunny. “There’s a trap right in front of you. I can see the rope.” “Thanks,” replied Kate. “For everything.” The Easter Bunny said, “Well, you saved me, too. After all, like you said, packs help each other, and we are like a pack now. You, me, and Ally.” Kate smiled.

A wolf ran towards them. The Easter Bunny jumped back, but Kate ran forward. “Ally!” she cried. Ally licked Kate’s face. Then the Easter Bunny went back into his rabbit hole and began to plan his surprise for Kate.

Pretty soon it was Easter and the Easter Bunny was getting ready for Kate’s surprise. Finally the night of Easter came and when the Easter Bunny arrived at Kate’s house he began to set up the surprise. Before he knew it morning had arrived and Kate would finally see her gift. She walked outside to find…
