Star Wars Crafts

May the 4th be with you! This week is National Star Wars Day on May 4th. It is known to be Star Wars Day because in the movie people say “May the Force be with you” but instead we say “May the 4th be with you”. In honor of this special day, here are some fun craft for all Star Wars lovers!

R2D2 is one of the most loveable droids in Star Wars. He has been in all of the movies along with his fellow droid C3PO. Here is a craft that will help you organize supplies and is R2D2. R2D2 pencil holder!

Supplies you will need:

Tin Can

Felt: red, blue, white, gray, black

Felt glue

Scissors

The next craft you can make are different star wars characters you can make from literally just empty toilet rolls. These lie around in your house waiting to be disposed, so you could grab a few and make a masterpiece out of them!

  1. Gather materials: You’ll need toilet rolls (one character per toilet roll), a glue gun, pencil, acrylic paints/brushes, and two large beads.
  2. First, slit four vertical cuts in the top, about an inch down.
  3. Fold the flaps into the center and glue them down with a glue gun. The tops of your paper roll should now be closed with a flat square at the top.
  4. With your pencil, sketch on features of your desired movie characters.
  5. Paint them and you are done!
  6. Optional: If you are making Princess Leia, glue the two large beads to her head with a glue gun and paint with brown paint.

The next craft we are going to make would be a great match to the R2D2 pencil holder. We are going to make light Saber pens.

  1. Collect the supplies: Fluorescent colored pens, black and silver duct tape (to cut thin strips).
  2. Wrap strips of black duct tape around the pen caps.
  3. Add 2 or 3 strips of silver duct tape on top of the black duct tape.
  4. Make sure to put the duct tape of the caps of the pens so the pens would be able to open.
