The Start Of Football Season
The 2016-2017 NFL football season is starting soon, and the season’s first game was September 8th with the Denver Broncos facing off against the Carolina Panthers. This is a rematch of the previous Super Bowl, so many people were excited to see the action. However the matchup this year is much different with the retirement of Peyton Manning taken into account. Without Manning, the Broncos have a completely different offense, but even last year’s backup Quarterback, Brock Osweiler, was traded to the Texans. This means that the Broncos will start a quarterback who has never thrown an NFL pass, the first time ever that a Super Bowl Champion of the previous year will do this. Two days after the Broncos and Panthers play, all except 4 other teams play their first games including the Patriots, who are also without their veteran quarterback, Tom Brady. Brady was suspended for allegedly deflating footballs during the 2015 season. Other notable suspensions include Le’veon Bell, Martavis Bryant, Josh Gordon, and Vontaze Burfict. According to ESPN’S football power index, both the Green Bay Packers and the Arizona Cardinals are predicted to have very good seasons and possibly win the league. The football season may seem long, but don’t worry, the Super Bowl is just around the corner! A full NFL schedule link is provided below.
