One week before the NCAA Tournament begins marks the beginning of the conference tournaments. Only one power five conference has completed its Conference Championship which was the BIG 10. Michigan became back to back winners of the BIG 10 Conference Championship with their win over Purdue for the title. The four other power five conferences play their conference tournaments this week and in this week some of the teams that need to have a very good performance in the tournament in the ACC are Notre Dame and Syracuse. Notre Dame had started their season 13-3 and then unfortunately lost their best player Bonzie Colson to an injury for 15 games in which they went 6-9 putting them on the bubble to make the tournament in March. In the SEC Alabama currently has a spot in the tournament but with their late struggles the teams may need to get a couple of wins in the SEC Tournament to assure a bid to the tournament. From the BIG 12 the Oklahoma Sooners were as high as the top five in the weekly rankings but after struggling a lot they are now close to falling out of the tournament. And finally in the PACK-12 the two teams the need a lot of help to get in are USC and UCLA with UCLA winning the final game of the season over USC that putting them in a better position than USC to get into the Tournament. The Conference Tournaments will be very meaningful for many teams trying to make a push for the tournament.
