Much like the Hunger Games, we have a strong, determined female heroine who is figuring out who she is and what her place in the world will be. Beatrice or Tris is a 16 year old girl who is introduced at a pivotal moment in her young life as she is about to be assigned to her “faction” or assignment in their society. Much like Harry Potter’s sorting hat, these teens have to take an aptitude test that will determine their fate. If you thought your last test was stressful, imagine a test that you can’t even study for that is going to determine your entire future! 

My favorite part of this series is how the characters’ relationships develop. Family relationships are tested, new friends are made, and there’s even a little bit of romance. Will she and her friends be able to save everyone from a corrupt government? Dive in and find out!
