Everybody knows about a very popular Disney movie called Frozen. Frozen was a huge Disney hit and people like me are still talking about it. Little kids are still dressing up in Elsa and Anna costumes, even though Halloween was six months ago. One reason that Frozen is so popular is because it shows that true love doesn’t have to be for your soul mate, true love can be for family or in this case for your sister. Here are some facts about Frozen you need to know.

1. Frozen will be coming out with a sequel, it is unknown whether the sequel will be a full movie or a short cartoon but for  all of the Frozen Fans this is some pretty exciting news. The estimated premier time is in 2017, but we all know movies can be delayed or early. There are many theories on what Disney is going to do for the sequel, but we don’t even know if it will be a full movie.
2. Frozen is based on the story “The Ice Queen” by Hans Christian Andersen. The Ice Queen is about an evil queen who freezes the land so it will always be winter.  That means Elsa was originally supposed to be a villain.
3. Frozen as we all know came out late 2013, but did you know that Disney wanted to make a movie based on the book since 1940. Disney was trying to get the authority of The Ice Queen so they could make Frozen.
4. When you look at the fun and happy reindeer Sven what do you think he looks like? Sven was actually inspired by the executive producer’s dog, Frankie.
5. In the scene when Anna is leaving the castle and singing “For The First Time in Forever” you can see Rapunzel and Flynn from Tangled make a very short cameo as they enter the castle.
6. The director of Frozen, Jennifer Lee was the first woman to direct a Disney animated feature.
7. When Anna and Hans sing “love is an open door” it is the first time a Disney princess sings a duet with a villain.
8. The original name for Sven was Thor.
9. When the voice of Elsa, Ida Menzel,  joined the Frozen cast Elsa had spiky blue hair. At the time Elsa was still the villain. Here is a picture of what Elsa was going to look like
10. There is a theory that the ship Elsa and Anna’s parents were on is the ship that Ariel finds at the bottom of the ocean in The Little Mermaid. Another theory states that the reason they were leaving is because they were going to Rapunzel and Flynn’s wedding
