Welcome back to the technology corner. Today I will tell you about a real life BB-8 product. BB-8 is the spherical droid you see in the Star Wars VII The Force Awakens trailer. The company shero made a special model that looks like BB-8 and you can control it with a free app.

Inside the specially designed case will be the actual mechanics. The basics is that it is a half spherical machine that has sensors, motors, receivers, motherboards, wires, etc. The thing that is unique about this sphero product is that there are magnets that are on a pillar that comes out of the center of the machine. This is what allows the product to keep its “head” close to the top. BB-8 connects to your phone or tablet with bluetooth, and it can be controlled by the app. The app allows you to control its movement with a controller layout or you can program it respond to your voice. There are also pre programmed modes that BB-8 can do on his own.

Personally I think that this is a really cool product. If you love Star Wars then you will like this. One of the cooler things about this product is that the “head” of the droid always stays close to the top, like in the movie. The fact that you can also control BB-8 with your phone or tablet is also pretty neat. Another interesting thing about is is that its top speed is 4.5 mph, and with a full charge the battery will last for an hour or more. The impressive thing about this is that it is only 11.4 cm tall and 7.c cm wide, the height and width do not match because of the “head” on the top. Overall I think this is an amazing product that is worth the purchase.
