Most radio stations have begun playing their Christmas music, and had begun nearly a month ago for many radio stations spread throughout America. Every year, the start date for Christmas music moves earlier and earlier, with some moving their start date to the day after Halloween.

Part of why Christmas music does not get old, or less so than all other music, is because it is only played during December. Or, at least, that was what happened. Now, the season of Christmas music is nearly twice the length it lasted just a decade ago for many stations.

Christmas is the only holiday to have a large selection of music that is played on the radio with great frequency. No other holiday has that honor, but the season of music is being stretched out into several months.
