Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak

Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak is a classic children’s book. The story tells of Max, a little boy who loves to cause trouble. His mother sends him to his room without supper. A jungle begins to grow in his room, and an ocean appears with a private boat just for him. He sails off to where the wild things are, and tames the beasts. They call him king, and he has fun with all of them. But, when he sends them off for bed, he is lonely. He chooses to sail back to his room, where he finds his dinner-and it’s still hot. This story teaches kids that while parents may seem mean, they only want what’s best for you in the end.
