CYO Coach of the Year Nominee
St. Philip’s is honored to have Coach Chris McNatt nominated as CYO Coach of the Year. To be nominated the CYO coach of the year, the track coach from every school in the archdiocese chooses one coach that they believe is the most deserving of this award. I interviewed Coach Chris McNatt asking him questions about track and his everyday life. Below is a question and answer interview between Coach Chris and me.
Question: How long have you been a coach?
Answer: I have been coaching the track and cross country teams at St. Philip for 9 years.
Question: Why do you continue to coach?
Answer: I enjoy seeing kids in the younger grades move up and improve.
Question: Did you do track and field as a kid?
Answer: Yes I did, I started in the first grade.
Question: Have you received any awards during your track years as a kid?
Answer: Yes, during my high school years of track I was awarded the MVP award for 2 years in a row.
Question: Does coaching track change the way you do stuff in your everyday life (interacting with other people)?
Answer: Being the track coach allows me to be more organized.
Question: What do you like to do in your free time?
Answer: In my free time I like to run whenever I can and hike with my son Ben.
Question: Did your son do track?
Answer: My son did track at St.Philip’s for all 6 years.
Obviously seeing all that Coach Chris has done he should be the CYO coach of the year. Coach Chris, thank you for all that you have done for our school and thank you for continuing to coach the St. Philip track team. We hope that you become the CYO coach of the year.
