Kindergarten Aquarium Fieldtrip
On March 23 the kindergarten class of St. Philip went to the Aquarium of the Pacific. They saw lots of fish, sharks, penguins, and even otters! They walked to many different exhibits to learn about the sea life all around them. Sra. Cross the Jr. High spanish teacher helped chaperone the field trip since her daughter, Emma, is in KB. Here are some of Sra. Cross’s thoughts about the field trip:
“I have been looking forward to this field trip for months! I was so excited to be able to go with my daughter’s class so I get to know her friends better. We had a great time! When we got to the aquarium the children had a snack. Right after they were divided in groups with one parent as a chaperone. We could go and visit any part of the aquarium so my group wanted to see the sharks first! So that’s what we did! After the sharks we went to see the stingrays. The children were excited to pet them and they didn’t want to leave! Each child in the group was ‘an expert’ on one sea animal so when we got to that animal they would give us some facts about it. I thought that was a great idea! They were proud of sharing their knowledge with everyone! Overall I had the best time with the little ones and I look forward to another field trip with them!”
Overall, it seems as though the students learned a lot and most importantly, had fun.
