6th Grade Lightning Thief Projects
The sixth grade recently read The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan in their Language Arts class. They are now creating projects based on the book. They have six options for this project. The first is designing a cabin for Hades, second is sorting mythological creatures into categories, and third is creating a wanted poster for one of the characters. Next there is plotting where the characters went over the course of their quest, designing a new Lotus Hotel and Casino (a place where the characters go in the book), and the sixth is to make a game board including at least ten events in the story. The purpose of this project is to help the students better understand the book and the story line. It’s a fun way to show their knowledge of the book and to use their creativity and imagination. Many of the students have stated that they have really enjoyed this project especially because it’s fun to do.
