Honey the Cat
This week’s pet of the week is my currently 2 month old kitten named Honey. Honey is an American shorthair domestic cat. Her fur is the color of oats and honey, hence her name! Honey was adopted from a litter of 5 female kittens but does not exhibit physical traits like any other of her siblings.
Honey has a mild manner and bright greenish-gray eyes. She has short legs, big ears, and a white chest. Although she settles down once in a while to take a nap, Honey is at the kitten stage where she loves jumping around and play-biting her owners. She has tons of energy!
Honey was born in April of 2015 from a litter of kittens living on the streets with their mother. They were just too cute to let live on the streets, and my aunt took them in to give the kittens away to different owners and safe, cozy homes. Honey was born along with four other kittens – a feisty orange tabby, a grey and chubby kitten, a skinny calico, and a soft grey and white kitten.
Honey lives alongside Onion, a calico cat who was also featured on the Falcon’s Flyer newspaper. They love to wrestle and play but Onion is always careful and caring for the kitten’s welfare – it’s adorable how much she looks out for her. All in all, Honey is the type of kitten that proves that cats are indeed loving and playful creatures.
Vivian is a 8th grader this year attending Mr. Weyermuller's 8A class. She has two cats, both of which are featured on Falcon's Flyer (Honey and Onion...
