During the summer of 2018, my family and I went to New York City. New York City is very different from where I live in Los Angeles. I did not fly directly to New York City because first I went to Buffalo, New York. From Buffalo, New York I drove to Canada then I drove to New York City. Once I got to New York City I saw many tall buildings that were lit up with lights. It was very cool to see all the buildings during the night. Once I got into the city there were many cars and people on the streets. I stayed at the Hilton on Times Square. It was very cool because once I walked out of my building I was able to see part of Times Square. Times Square was lit up with the very bright billboards. There were a lot of people there which made it a little hard to make my way to the place I wanted to go. While in New York City I went to the 9/11 memorial museum, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a Broadway musical, and Central Park. I was in New York City for four days. The first place I went to was the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of liberty was a very nice place to explore. I went all the way up to the pedestal. I was not able to go to all the way up to the crown because all of the spots were reserved. The Statue of Liberty’s history was very nice to learn about because it was a gift from the French. The next place I went to was the 9/11 memorial. The 9/11 memorial was very touching and interesting to look at. 9/11 greatly affected the U.S as a whole. The memorial was put in place to remember all the innocent people that lost their lives to a terrorist attack in New York City. I really like the museum because it explained many things about 9/11 and it was very real to me to see how it affected the U.S. The next place I went to was the Empire State Building. I was allowed to go all the way up to the 112th floor which was very cool. At the top of the building it is closed but you can see almost all of New York City. The third place I went to was Central Park. Central Park was very beautiful because it was very green and very big and it felt nice to see all the nature. The next thing I went to was the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Metropolitan Museum of Art also known as “the MET” was very cool and big. I was not able to finish the whole museum because it was very big. There were many special pieces there. My favorite one was a golden Versace dress. It was very pretty. The last place I went to was a musical on Broadway. The show I watched was Aladdin. It was very funny. The theater was very pretty and was in Times Square a couple of blocks down my hotel. While in New York my way of transportation was the subway. The subway was very different from what I am used to because I am normally used to driving in a car. My advice if your going to New York make sure that you know how a subway works because you can get easily lost. My trip with my family to New York was very fun, exciting, and a great experience.
