Kylian Mbappe Becomes PSG’s All Time Leading Scorer
On March 4th, Kylian Mbappe, a forward with European soccer power Paris Saint-Germain F.C., scored his 201st goal for the club.
Why is this such a notable achievement?
In doing so, he became the player with the most goals in the history of PSG.
That’s an incredible accomplishment for a player is only 24 years old, and whose best days may well be ahead of him!
That title had previously been held by Argentinian Edison Cavani.
Something that may surprise soccer fans is that Mbappe’s scoring pace is ahead of where Argentina superstar Lionel Messi was at the age of 24.
In terms of career goals (club and country), Mbappe stands at 267, which includes his time playing for AS Monaco.
At 24, Messi had tallied 208 goals for Barcelona and Argentina. Of course, he had also collected two of the very prestigious Ballon d’Or awards, which is something Mbappe has yet to achieve.
Thanks to Argentina’s recent World Cup championship, both players are now even at 1-1 with winning World Cups for their respective countries.
If he stays healthy, it’s highly probable that Kylian Mbappe will continue to add to his already-impressive trophy collection.
He is a generational talent, whose talents and skills cannot be dismissed.
