A Curse: A Fanfiction Chapter 17
Chapter 17- Origins
Shadow
“Ugh. We’ve been walking forever! Shadow, are you sure we’re going the right way?” a certain blue hedgehog asked impatiently. “You’ve asked me 17 times already! I know where we’re going! How could I forget?” Shadow scoffed. The journey had taken longer than expected, and it definitely didn’t help with Sonic’s short attention span. “I see something up ahead!” Blaze pointed out . Sure enough, they were coming upon a clearing that consisted of a field and a cave. “It’s about time!” Knuckles muttered to himself. A sudden thought came to mind that caused Shadow to face palm himself. As everyone else went to go explore, Rouge walked passed the now irritated hedgehog. “What’s wrong?” she asked. “After all that trouble and annoyance…” he started, “I just NOW realize I could have chaos controlled us here…”
Amy
It was weird how nostalgic this place seemed, though Amy didn’t quite remember the cave. I bet that’s where the answers are! “So what now?” Tails asked curiously. “Well, there’s nothing out here, so I say we go inside and search. There’s gotta be something somewhere.” Shadow said simply. ‘Should only us Curse members go?’ asked Silver. All agreed. “Uh, can you guys wait out here?” Sonic asked awkwardly. Rouge just shrugged her shoulders. “We’ll be back soon.” Amy said reassuringly to Cream. Once inside, they looked around. “Wow! This cavern has information on MUCH more than just the Curse!” Tails said amazed. “We should all head our own ways to cover more ground.” Knuckles pointed out. They all nodded and set off to look for anything helpful.
Shadow
Personally, Shadow was relieved to split up. This has been the most companionship he’s had in a long time. Walking down the stone tunnel, he noticed the walls had artwork and ancient text. As Shadow was viewing the walls, he came upon a section that seemed much more modern. “This is it!” he whispered excitedly to himself. He began reading silently to himself, “A prophecy has shown that the world is in danger. The only thing powerful enough to save it would be to have a group with unnatural powers to stop it.” There seemed to be multiple entries. Continuing, he read, “Seven have been chosen. Each has their own strengths and weaknesses, but together they are ready for anything.” Let’s see if I can find anything I DON’T know. He noticed that there was an entry for each of them, titled with their “power”. His eyes locked on his. Titled Chaos, he began, “Shadow, a black hedgehog, has an incredible strength. Having been created by the government, he was until now sealed away in the possession of his creator, Gerald Robotnik. Gerald agreed to allow Shadow to take on the Curse. Although his potential was great, he always seemed to be distant and slightly hostile. His chaotic powers allow him to bend time and space, form powerful energy attacks, cause a massive explosion, and do much more.” There was only one entry left relating to the Curse, and it didn’t help ease his mind. “With this Curse, there comes a price. There are ancient cages made long ago that can hold them, disabling their abilities. When all captured, the one who did so gains access to those abilities. But from this flaw, there comes a solution. When one of the Curse members completes this task themselves, all of the powers are opened to this person. While this can be dangerous because of possible evil amongst themselves, the option is there.” After re-reading the small paragraph to himself once more, his head was spinning with what that could mean. ‘I couldn’t find anything. Anyone else?’ Sonic asked. ‘Nope.’ Everyone else said. ‘Shadow? What about you?’ Silver asked. Nothing here. Let’s all meet up and get out of here. Shadow walked back the way he came, as if nothing ever happened.
Rouge
Rouge was glad to see them walking out. Annoying Omega was fun, but she was starting to run out of questions and random math equations for him to solve. “Did you find anything Mr. Sonic?” Cream questioned politely. “Afraid not. We all split up, but I guess our Curse’s to recent to have any documentation.” he replied. “You would think they’d have at least a LITTLE info…” Tails muttered glumly. Rouge noticed that Shadow had an odd look in his eyes. “You alright?” she asked. “Just fine.” he said.
