Kindergarten through second grade:

  • I am Not Sleepy and I will Not go to Bed by: Lauren Child
    • Charlie is getting his little sister Lola ready for bed and it is very hard especially with all the whales and tigers that get in the way.
  • Click Clack Moo by: Doreen Cronin
    • Farmer Brown’s cow find an old typewriter and start posting what they want for Farmer Brown to read. But, Farmer Brown will not complete their wishes.
  • Too Much Noise by: Meg Greve
    • The children are making it impossible for their mom to get any sleep. They are making too much noise.
  • Amelia Bedelia; Under Construction by: Herman Parish
    •   When Amelia is babysitting her day at home turns into a remodeling of their house.
  • Mercy Watson; Something Wonky this way Comes by: Kate DiCamillo
    • Mercy the pig is taken to a drive in movie theater and things don’t go as planned.

Third through fifth grade:

    • Matilda is adopted by parents who are mean and don’t care about her but little do they now she has powers.

    • A young girl lives in Sweden with no parents but a horse and a monkey.
  • Cornelia and the Audacious Escapades of the Somerset Sisters by: Leslie Blum
    • Cornelia is a daughter of a famous pianist who pays no attention to her but, Cornelia finds a friend in a new elderly neighbor who tells Cornelia all of her worldly travels.
  • The Harry Potter Series by: J.K.  Rowling
    • Harry Potter is a wizard who was saved from evil by the love of his mother as a baby Harry potter now goes to Hogwarts academy for wizardry and goes against the dark forced till the very end.

Sixth grade through eighth grade:

  • Treasure Island by: Robert Stevenson
    • A boy and his mother find a treasure map that will lead them high and low to find the treasure.
  • The Emerald Atlas by: John Stephans
    • A family of foster kids get moved to a new house and are sucked into magical forces.
  • Wonder by: R.J. Palacio
    • A 10 year old was born with intense facial deformities and enters school and is scared of the fear and taunting she fears with await her.
  • Okay for Now by: Gary D. Schmidt
    • A 14 year old boy is faced with many things such as the law, an insecure brother from the war and an abusive father.
  • Maze Runner by: James Dashner
    • A 16 year old Thomas is trapped in a maze in his mind that he must escape.
  • The Hobbit by: J.R. Tolken
    • Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who goes off with a group of dwarfs, elves, and wizards to find stolen treasure.
  • Counting by 7’s by: Holly Goldberg sloan
    • A 12 year old boy is forced to connect with other people after both his parents die in a car accident.
