MLB Postseason Race

MLB Postseason Race

The 2017 MLB Postseason is a month away and there are many spots still up for grabs. League wild card race is one of the closest and deepest race that we have ever seen. The wild card teams are currently the Minnesota Twins, who have the 2nd wild card spot and the New York Yankees, who people thought would run away with the first wild card spot but only lead the Twins by 3.5 games and with an upcoming 3 games series with the Twins the Yankees are not a lock for the playoffs. The Twins have been playing well as of late and most likely in a normal wild card race the Twins and the Yankees would have both run away with their spots, but this year their is 6 teams behind the Twins within 4.5 games of the Twins for the second spot. The American League wild card teams behind the Twins consist of the Angels 1.0 games back, the Rangers 2.0 games back, the Royals 2.5 games back, the Rays are 3.5 back, the Mariners are 3.5 games back, and the Orioles 4.0 games back of the Twins for the second wild card spot. The American league division seem like they are mostly locked up the Astros lead the AL West by 13.0 games over the second place Angels, the Indians are running aways with the AL CentraL and lead it by 13 games, and the AL East is one division that still has some competition the Red Sox are currently leading the division but the Yankees are only 3.5 games back. The National league Wild card appears to be in control with the Diamondbacks in complete control of the first wild card spot but the Rookies only lead the Brewers and the Cardinals by 3.0 games.  In the National lead the NL East has already been clinched by the Washington Nationals, the NL West is lead by the Dodgers who lead the division by 9 games, and finally the NL Central is lead by the Cubs who lead their division by 2.0 games over the Brewers and the Cardinals. So with the close race we can expect a very exciting race to the postseason in the American and National Leagues.
