Christmas

Christmas

There are many things in life that I enjoy, such as sports, computer games, food, and vacations.  If I had to choose my favorite thing, that would be celebrating Christmas.  I have always liked Christmas because of the decorations, the presents, and especially, the birth of Jesus.

Christmas-treeChristmas decorations are colorful and bright.  They can be red and green, or silver and gold.  There are many other choices too, and no matter what someone chooses, they all look great.  Putting ornaments and lights on the Christmas tree is fun.  I always put the angel on top before my sister does.  The garland is fun.  I enjoy stringing the garland around the windows and the tree.  All the decorations light up the house.

The presents are very exciting.  I run down the stairs as fast as I can.  Once I see all the presents, I am excited that Christmas morning has arrived.  I look at the big presents first to see if my name is on them.  While I am looking at the presents, my family is just getting out of bed.  After ten minutes, (which seems like a million) they all come down from the stairs.  After we are gathered in the living room, my Dad passes out the presents one by one and we start shredding the wrapping paper.  After we open and play with our presents, we eat breakfast.  My mom makes us a plate full of pancakes.  They always taste good, especially with syrup.

The best part of Christmas is that we celebrate the birth of Jesus.  The Savior came to Earth to save us.  God humbled himself to become man.  Jesus was born in a stable with the animals, rather than being born in a palace with jewels and gold.  The birth of Baby Jesus gives us hope and is the true gift of Christmas.nativity

Life is full of things to enjoy.  Choosing Christmas as my favorite thing keeps God in the center of my life.  Jesus makes everything I do possible.  Jesus wants us to be happy on Earth.  Christmas is the best time of the year because we can celebrate the birth of Jesus, enjoy family, good food, and presents under the tree.
