This year was the 61st Grammy Awards. The Grammy is an award presented by The Recording Academy to recognize achievements in the music industry and in specific music categories. They have one award for each category and give out 31 awards total. For Record of the Year and Song of the Year Donald Glover and Ludwig Goransson, the songwriters, and Childish Gambino won with “This is America”. For Album of the Year, Kacey Musgraves won with “Golden Hour”. For Best New Artist Dua Lipa won and for Best Pop Solo Performance Lady Gaga won with “Joanne (Where Do You Think You’re Goin’?)”. Also, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper won for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Shallow. For Best Pop Vocal Album Ariana Grande won with “Sweetener”. For Best Rap Performance Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Future and James Blake won with “King’s Dead” and also for Best Rap Performance Anderson Paak won with “Bubblin” and for Best Rap Song Aubrey Graham, Daveon Jackson, Brock Korsan, Ron LaTour, Matthew Samuels and Noah Shebib, songwriters, and Drake won with “Gods Plan”.
