Teacher of the Month

Teacher of the Month

Falcons Flyer Teacher Of The Month

For the month of December, the teacher of the month is Mrs. Ruiz.

Mrs. Ruiz is a talented piano player, and she loves to share her amazing skills as she helps students learn to be great musicians.

In a recent interview, Mrs. Ruiz shared more about herself.

Eli: How do you feel about your selection as teacher of the month for December?

Mrs. Ruiz: I feel very thankful for being selected and I am also very happy!

Eli: Why did you decide to become a teacher?

Mrs. Ruiz: I decided to become a teacher because since I was little that was my passion. When I was four years old my dad bought me a white board, which made me want to teach. When I was a kid, my favorite game was to play the role of “teacher” with my dolls, who were my students.  I would teach them from my old notebooks. I also used to sing a lot for them, making me love music.

Eli: What is your favorite color and why?

Mrs. Ruiz: My favorite colors are blue and green because they represent nature. Blue is the color of sky and green is the color of grass.

Eli: What is your favorite part of being a teacher?

Mrs. Ruiz: My favorite part of being a teacher is to spread the joy of music to my students.

Eli: What is your favorite instrument to play and why?

Mrs. Ruiz: Violin, because it’s the instrument I played since I was little. I also enjoy playing the piano.

Eli: What is your teaching philosophy?

Mrs. Ruiz: Music education is a human right.
