Fun Times at Recess and Lunch

Fun+Times+at+Recess+and+Lunch

How do students spend their precious recess and lunch minutes?

For those students in junior high, it’s often about playing and talking!

“Active” is probably the best word to describe the recess and lunch scene at St. Philip the Apostle School.

Junior high students are often seen playing volleyball, basketball, or foursquare.

Many also enjoy talking and socializing.

A recent survey of around 70 junior high students revealed some details that present a clear picture of some favorite activities.

The survey included an even split among boys and girls.

A majority of the girls (23) simply enjoy talking, as they sit somewhere or take a walk.

Seven of the girls said they play sports (mostly kickball and volleyball), while the other five said they do different things every day.

For the boys, playing sports is clearly their favorite activity.

15 of them said they play football, while 16 said they head to the basketball courts.

Two boys noted that foursquare is their preferred activity, and five responded they simply enjoy hanging out and talking.

Regardless of how the time is spent, almost everyone agrees that it goes by too fast!
