Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg is a Christmas classic, and even had a movie based on it! It is narrated by a boy who on one Christmas Eve night heard the sound of an engine outside. When he went to investigate, he found the Polar Express, in which he went to the North Pole. Once he arrived, Santa chose him to receive the first gift of Christmas. He decided on a bell from Santa’s sleigh, which accidentally fell out of his pocket. At home the next morning, he found a little box under the tree with the bell and a note from the gift giver. When he shook it, his parent thought it was broken, for only those who believed could hear the magical sound.
