Technology Corner: Useless but somewhat cool things you can do with your iPhone!
Do you own an iPhone? Does your mom own an iPhone? Does maybe….your dog…….own an iPhone? Well did you know that you can actually do some pretty useless but cool stuff with it? Didn’t think so! You, person, should spend more time on the internet! Anyway, we made a list of random stuff you can do with yours or someone else’s iPhone right now!
- Do you like planes?
If you have Location Services on an iPhone, then you can ask siri “What flights are above me?” or you can just ask “Planes overhead”, and Siri will give you a list of actual flights above the clouds right on top of you! She also gives you the altitude that the planes are at, as well as the plane’s angle in the air.
- Does Siri pronounce your friends name wrong?
You know what gets on my nerves? When Siri pronounces my name, or my friend’s names wrong! Actually it doesn’t really make me that mad. But, if this makes you mad, then just tell Siri that she pronounced it wrong, and she will ask you how you pronounce it. She will then give a list of 2 to 5 recordings on different ways she pronounces it. From there, you can pick one.
- You wanna know what to wear tomorrow?
Are you on a strict schedule, so you need to choose beforehand what to wear some days? By just asking Siri “what is the weather like this week”, you can know what the climate and temperature will be like that week.
- Download a game
If you’re bored, and you have an iPhone, get a game; how did you not think of that???
- You probably don’t know what a Gyroscope is, honestly….
A Gyroscope is a device consisting of a wheel or disk mounted so that it can spin rapidly about an axis that is itself free to alter in direction. The orientation of the axis is not affected by tilting of the mounting; so gyroscopes can be used to provide stability or maintain a reference direction in navigation systems, automatic pilots, and stabilizers. You definitely know that we know what we are talking about, and that we wrote that ourselves obviously amirite ;-]. Well, your iPhone has a gyroscope inside it, and you can test it out by going to your compass application (your iphone comes with it), and swipe right. It’s pretty cool, you should try it.
Well that’s all folks, from your personal healthcare companion. (s)
