Technology Corner: Virtual Reality Gaming
Welcome back to Technology Corner you chumps. Today only I, the great and powerful Roan is here, and I am going to talk about virtual reality in gaming, whether it’s Facebook’s Oculus Rift, or Nintendo’s Virtual Boy. Gaming has evolved so much since its first appearance, becoming from an analog and lightbulb game, from a pixelated side scroller game, to a 3D first person shooter game, and now, to this. Virtual Reality gaming first started with Nintendo’s release of the Virtual Boy. The Virtual Boy was a gaming headset that went over your face, released in 1995. It was Nintendo’s first failure, with it making people sick, and only having 18 games. One of the most popular modern virtual reality is a controller called the Oculus Rift. The Rift is a mounted display, just like the Virtual Boy, but it is developed Oculus VR. It was bought by facebook on March 25, 2014, and became a very popular video game accessory/system, and one of the most popular virtual reality gaming technologies to date. It is not quite launched yet, but it is available to you if you are a developer, which you can buy it for $350.
