The Boy Who Fell From The Sky by Jule Owen is a futuristic novel that falls under the genre of science fiction. Set in a dystopian future in the year 2055, sixteen-year old Mathew Erlang lives in Britain at the start of the First Space War, Britain against Russia. The book shows many advancements in today’s society such as cures for certain diseases and longer human life, amazing technology and widespread use of robots.

The world around Mathew is repeatedly broken by climate problems and constant flooding, resulting in public outroar against the government. Lots of controversy of lab-modified foods and how the government solves problems arises, which starts the divide of Britain.

During this stressful period, the city is kept inside their homes, and Mathew can do little more than spend his time working on holographic objects, virtual realities, and flying robots. With a sudden newfound interest in his peculiar and exclusive neighbor, August Lestrange, Mathew finds more information about the man and incidentally finds himself inside Lestrange’s house. When Mathew opens a door, he falls four hundred years in the future, a week before the end of the world. As he struggles to stay alive in this confusing future, he accidentally starts to weaken the course of humankind.
