Fall Sports Near Conclusion

Fall+Sports+Near+Conclusion

As a wise person once said, “All good things must come to an end.” This is true with two Varsity sports: Flag Football and Girls Volleyball. While all of those playing either of these Varsity sports are saddened by the end  (or impeding end) of the season, all can still join Cross Country to stay in shape until basketball starts.

The Girls Varsity Volleyball team won seven games and lost two. Due to their great record, they have  advanced to the CYO playoffs. They won their first game on Friday, October 25. Their second game was on Sunday,  October 27, after this article went to press.

The Varsity Football team had three wins and seven losses. While their record was not overwhelming, they did have great sportsmanship. Most of the other teams just gave their strongest players playing time and gave their not as strong players little playing time, usually only once the game’s outcome had been decided. On the other hand, the Varsity Falcons spread the playing time more evenly, which provided good experiences for everyone, though it did not do any favors for their record.

The Girls JV Volleyball team went two and seven. While JV did not advance to the playoffs, the girls had a good experience and improved over the season and will be better next year, whether in eighth grade or high school.

Cross Country is still going strong, and will not end for several weeks, culminating in the CYO Finals on November eleventh.  Varsity Cross Country has done very well, placing third or higher in both the girls and boys divisions in two out of the three meets that have taken place so far.

B Football is still ongoing, with the Red and Black teams doing well so far. Also ongoing is Girls B Volleyball. Neither season will end for a while.

News & Notes

The third grade Cross Country team won both the girls and boys divisions at the prestigious Mt. San Antonio College (more commonly referred to as Mt. SAC) meet. The meet includes many of the top elementary school and junior high runners in California.
