1st Grade Science with Mrs. Gripp

This week, Falcon’s Flyer interviewed the first graders about their science class with Mrs. Gripp. First Graders Renn Burke, Alexander Alimi, Phyllis Knoll, and Vince Campagna were very excited to talk to us about what they were working on! Recently, first grade has been learning about plants. After reading Jack and the Beanstalk, they tried to grow beans in a plastic bag. The kids told us all about how their plants needed water and sunlight to grow and pointed out which plant was theirs. You can see their projects on the door at the end of the first grade hallway. Another fun activity they mentioned is, going outside to the school garden and looking at the plants there. They told us about how they saw bees, hummingbirds, and even a butterfly cocoon in the garden! Their favorite activity is tasting fruits and vegetables. The first graders were really energetic about science and seemed to have a lot of fun with Mrs. Gripp!
