Happy new year falcons! As 2026 starts, so will World Scholars! On January 7th, the world scholars meeting took place in 6A at 3:30-4:30pm. During this meeting, Mrs. Simone’s son explained the different events such as the quiz bowl, debate, writing, and the apparently really really really really really really hard test with 120 questions. If you’ve never done world scholars or don’t know what it is, it’s basically a bunch of fun events with different categories of trivia based on a theme. There’s art and music, history, science and technology, and a special category where they put questions that don’t really fit into any other topic. Everyone participating in world scholars will get into groups of three (or two but three is recommended) and they will be judged in the events both individually and as a team. If you qualify, you move onto the global rounds where you can go to Korea. This year’s theme will be “are we there yet?” and the official practices will begin on the 21st this month. This will be my first time participating, and I’m super excited! If you’re also planning on joining, make sure to study hard and remember that team work makes the dream work!
