Search for Missing Flight Resumes

The search for MH370 has resumed after 8 years

On March 8th, 2014, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 took off from Kuala Lumpur International en route to Beijing. Less than an hour after takeoff into its 6 hour flight, the Boeing 777 suddenly vanished off radar and all communication with the plane was lost. Some military cameras managed to spot the plane doing a sharp turn around, and then it was never seen again. Many authorities have tried to locate the missing plane over the years, which turned it into the most expensive search in aviation history, with it costing over $150 million dollars. Over the years, small parts of the plane have been seen washed up on shore, but the main parts of the plane have never been found. Many different theories speculate what happened to the plane, with some suggesting that it had been shot down by a missile while others say the pilots deliberately crashed it into the sea. The last search for MH370 was conducted in the Southern Indian Ocean by the private firm Ocean Infinity, but after 3 months of searching, they didn’t find anything. Since then, all searches have ceased operating, but on December 30th, Ocean Infinity announced that they will be resuming operations for the missing plane. Ocean Infinity’s CEO, Oliver Punkett, has stated that he is optimistic about starting the search again.
